Qianyang is a county with a long history and a profound cultural background.It played an important role in the origin of Zhou and Qin culture,and it was also an important post in the ancient Silk Road.Qianyang folk embroidery occupies an important position as one of the Qianyang traditional cultures.Through consulting literature and field investigation,the paper starts with the introduction of the handicraft and the style of Qianyang folk embroidery,it introduces in details about the tools、the materials、the stitches、the patterns、the colors and the process of Qianyang folk embroidery,and then it introduces the contact between folk embroidery and folk custom,and the role it plays in traditional life、life etiquette and festival temple fair.Secondly,the paper talks about the history of Qianyang folk embroidery,and sums up the Qianyang’s pattern of inheritance and development:personal and family workshop、cooperative and limited company.As an intangible cultural heritage,Qianyang folk embroidery has had help from the government and its policy support in recent years.Thirdly,the interview with the embroidery artists helped us knowing about their survival status.The paper discovers and sums up the difficulties the embroidery artists come across nowadays,and then gives some good suggestions.and at last,my graduation design work is finished combining Qianyang folk embroidery with the mordern dress.
