| Oxidation ditch is the most widely used wastewater treatment process whic h has the better decontamination effect, the s imple tank and the excellent investment benefit ratio. The aerator has been developed variedly with the oxidation ditc h’s development. Inverted-umbrella type surfac e aerator is the representative one of the shallow aerators. Nowadays a lot of the surfac e aerators were des igned by the relevant experience or the semi-empirical relations hip. It was so obscure for the hydraulic characteristics. It’s unpractical to take experiment in full-scale oxidation ditch. So we do the lab scale researc h to study about the inner flow filed of the oxidation ditch.The CFX(Computational Fluid mec hanics simulate) was used to s imulate the LANDY-7 and the Puddler, whic h were used in the oxidation ditch. The Standard k- eps ilon model was used to simulate the liquid phase in the oxidation ditch. The veloc ity of the water in the lab scale ditc h was measured by the PIV(Partic le Image Veloc imeter). The reliabilit y of the modelization’s results was verified by the lab scale experiments. The mixing ability, the lifting capac ity, the oxygenating ability and the hydraulics characters were qualitative analyzed by doing these researches. The LANDY-7 had better comprehens ive ability in the plugging flow and oxygen filling aspects. The LANDY-7 could plug the surface flow and the bottom flow better than the Puddler. The central flow layer of the tank could be driven better by us ing the Puddler. At last,discuss the two aerator’s hydraulic characteristics via Inverted-umbrella type s urfac e aerator theory. This researc h provide the bas is for the aerator application in oxidation and more res earch project.This study could provide the bases for the applic ation of the LANDY- 7 and the Puddler in the oxidation ditch. It could provide the opinions for the practical engineering’s aerator selection and the design of oxidation ditch process. |
