Study On Comfortability Of 99 Type Summer Duty Police Uniform

Uniforms are customs with special meaning. Along with the development of times, the design for uniforms has been changed. Serving as a formal wear, uniforms have their own social culture. The guarantee for the comfortableness of uniforms is of vital importance during its designing process. Among various types of uniforms, police uniforms serving as the customs for policemen to wear when on duty. Apparently,its comfortableness is involved in policemen personal safety,as well as in success of their daily work. Therefore, it is significant to investigate the comfortableness of police uniforms. Due to the space limitation and other limitation factors, this essay can-not focus on all kinds of police uniforms’ detailed analysis. Hence, the comfortableness of type 99 police uniforms with short sleeves will be emphasized in current duty.This study includes three parts. The first part is, theoretical introduction of the police uniforms reform process in China. The function of the police uniforms is also analyzed and followed by a detailed analysis on its garment ergonomics. In the second part, an empirical analysis is carried out questionnaires and field investigations. Particulary,the comfortableness of type 99 police uniforms with short sleeves is analyzed form the aspects of garment pattern structure, material application and the manufacturing technology. In the last part, we propose solutions and suggestions to improve the comfortableness of type 99 police uniforms with short sleeves are dished, which are “put the policeman first”, “give priority to convenience” and “security is of vital importance”. Then it comes up with some suggestions for the improvements: The pattern structure is supposed to be optimized, and more attention should be paid to the reasonable structure design; as for the materials optimization, materials with good breathability, hygroscopic property and thermo-stability should be utilized. In terms of technological optimization, it is believed better to cut the dress according to different figures, to employ a pattern and cut way of integrating clip plane with free draping, and utilizing a standardized technological process.
