The development of human society is always connected with the large scale engineering constructions. All that large-scale engineering constructions have created convenient conditions and economic boom, but it has also brought along with huge consumption of resources and energy a lot of environmental problems, such as air-pollution water-pollution and so on, which has become a threat to human beings. Therefore, not only is the environmental impacts on current situation taken into account, but other factors should be analyzed from the angle of the life cycle. And then the sustainable development can come true with the environmental improvement. The piping system of chemical engineering will be analyzed in this thesis. The life cycle of piping system is divided into different stages, according to the technical framework of LCA. The environmental pollution in every stage is studied. The optimal proposal is figured out in order to reduce pollution.First the basic theory of LCA and research background of this thesis are shown. The life cycle of piping system comprises five stages, include design, manufacture, construction, operation and dismantling. The energy consumption and environmental impact in every stage is analyzed. And the technical framework of LCA of chemical piping system is build.Second a real engineering project is taken as an example. Four piping materials go through the inventory analysis. The data of pollution and energy consumption are found out. The model of AHP is established. And the weighting factor of every environmental impact is got on the basis of AHP.Finally the optimal proposals are provided in line with the result of impact assessment, only if the process conditions are met. The eyesight is focused on the two stages, production and performance.
