During the medium density fiberboard (MDF) production, The Fiber Manufacturing Process is the production process consumed energy most and relatively serious environmental impact. a Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF)(Medium Density Fiberboard, MDF) maximum energy consumption in production, environment impact is relatively serious production, As the rapid growth of MDF production, the environmental problems coused by the manufacturing process has aroused extensive attention from our society. Research the resource consumption and environmental effect in the process of the fiber manufacturing, with the introduction of life cycle assessment. To be guided by ISO14040-14043and GB/T24040-24044, combining with the specific environmental effect of fiber manufacturing process in our country at present stage, environmental impact evaluation model for the fiber manufacturing process is established.Combining the theory of life cycle assessment, The Goal and Scope of the MDF fiber manufacturing process is defined. The data List, effect type, type parameter, characteristics model and the normalized and weighted method are also determined.Do the Life Cycle Assessment of fiber manufacturing process of a typical domestic MDF production enterprise with advanced production technology and20million cubic metres product annually. Energy consumption analysis results show that162.434kgce energy consumed per Unit mass (1t) in the fiber manufacturing process. Among them, the total heat energy consumption is132.84kgce, total power consumption is29.59kgce, and the waste gas treatment equipments consume1.96kgce. The proportion of electricity and heat energy is about1:4.49.The environmental impact analysis results show that after the normalization, the greenhouse effect has the most impact in the five types of environmental impact category. But given the relative importance of various types of environmental impact, after the weighting treatment for various types of environmental impact, the relative sizes of the environment load values is The Greenhouse Effect> Acidification>Eutrophication> Photochemical Smog> Human Health Damage. That is among the types of environmental impact the greenhouse effect has the most impact, secondly, is Acidification and Eutrophication.Through the Life Cycle Assessment research of fiber manufacturing process, associate the life cycle assessment methodology with fiber preparation process, Not only deepen the application of life cycle assessment in domestic wood products industry, and enrich our life cycle assessment theory system; but also quantify the inputs and outputs. The quantitative analysis of material consumption and environmental emissions of each production unit and identify the main environmental impact factors in the fiber manufacturing process and the corresponding production unit, which will be new ideas for the fiber manufacturing process of cleaner production and sustainable development.
