In recent years,with the rapid development of numerical control technology,CNC machine tools have gradually become the mainstream of modern machine tool industry as well as the core of the equipment manufacturing industry,and they are also highly valued by many manufacturing enterprises at home and abroad.However,the emotional factors of human were not taken into full consideration when designing many CNC machine tools,so the human-machine interface of these CNC machine tools were irrational and complex,which seriously affected the safety,comfort,and operational efficiency of these CNC machine tools.As a result,the emotions of the users play a more and more important role in the design of human-machine interface.In order to improve the amenity of CNC machine tools,the designers should adhere to the concept of “human centered” to develop new products and to improve the irrationality of the existing products.Only in this way,can we improve the quality and market competitiveness of CNC machine tools.Firstly,the paper sorts out the theory of human-machine interface design and Kansei engineering to provide a theoretical basis for improving the human-machine interface of existing CNC machine tools and evaluating the effectiveness of the improvement.Furthermore,this paper takes a type of CNC lathe as the object of the study,and summarizes its functions and characteristics.Find out the problems in the design of its human-machine interface based on eye tracking experiments and the knowledge of human factors engineering,then use the knowledge of human-machine interface design to solve the above problems.And then,draw the final picture of the control panel after the improvement.Finally,use the method of eye tracking experiments and semantic differential method to evaluate the effect of the improvement in the human-machine interface.Use the statistical software SPSS to analyze and deal with the data of the experiments and surveys in order to estimate whether the improvement has achieved good results.Not only that,this paper also makes comparison of these two methods to determine whether the results by the two methods are consistent,and analyze the relationship between the results of the two methods.
