This paper selects Chinese bamboo flute as research object,such as two Chis of Tomb of Zeng Marquis Yi in Hubei Suizhou,two Chis of Mawangdui Han Tombs in Hunan Changsha,the flute of Han Dynasty Marquis in Gansu Juyan,the Luobo Bay flute of Han Dynasty in Guangxi Gui county.After studying their shape,material,scale constitution,we make initial explorations on the making process,playing method,scale structure of imitation and sound performance of the six kinds of bamboo flute instruments by combining musical ethnography analogy,simulation experiment,and practical demonstration of side tone.
