The large petrochemical cooling water plant project has the following characteristics:large scale,big investment,complex construction structure and technology,covering a wide range of professional,such as construction,structure,equipment,piping,electrical,instrumentation,water supply and drainage,stress professional.Success of the project requires the depth of each professional connection,the entire life cycle of the project is full of risks,A slight negligence,there will be casualties,project delay,cost increase,so that will be great affected of the entire project and the plant operation,so to use project risk management in such projects is particularly necessary.In this paper,"Shanghai NEXX fourth cooling water plant project" is the object of risk management research.Firstly,this paper describes the theory of project risk management,through the domestic and foreign literature data,this paper briefly describes the current situation of domestic and foreign project risk management research or practice,and then use the risk management theory to the Shanghai NEXX fourth cooling water plant project,through the brainstorming method for project risk identification,totally identify seven risks such as policy risk,economic risk,social risk,business risk,safety risk,technical risk and so on.Use fuzzy mathematical method to evaluate the project risks,according to the result of risk assessment using the reasonable methods to deal with risks,and setup the risk monitoring measures to monitor all stages of the entire project.Eventually the cooling water plant project risk control in a reasonable range.
