As a recycled resource,steel slag has gotten attention and has been applied gradually in many steel enterprises.At present,the all of steel enterprises are making an effort to purify the iron-bearing material in waste steel slag,and apply it back to the smelting process under the demands of outsourcing ore resources and the implementation of solid waste resources emission reduction especially.The analysis demands on the chemical composition of steel slag are also improved along with the improvement of technical level in iron and steel industry.It is necessary to detect the total iron contents of steel slag in order to provide the quality information of magnetic steel slag production line process control timely,and to identify the quality of steel slag,and to determine the recycling derection.So,the conventional measuring methods have not been suitable for the present analysis requirements.It is imperative to explore an effective method of detection.In this paper,the development trend of chemical composition and comprehensive utilization of steel slag are comprehensively summarized.It is analyzed that of the analysis method of the steel slag and the problems in actual production process.The phase compositions are complex for different grain size steel slags.Both the powder and large particles co-existed,and the metal and slag mixed each other in large particles,and the sample segregation for above reason would result the sample can not be dissolved completely.If the total iron content of slag abandoned metal particles is analyzed only,the result of the analysis is not matched with the actual iron content of steel slag.Therefore,the chemical analysis of the existing methods can't analyze accurately total iron content(TFe)in steel slag,and it would affect its utilization.In this paper,a kind of magnetic separation test method for the determination of total iron content in the steel slag is proposed.The iron oxide,iron oxide,silicate in steel slag can be broken easily and it realizes the determination of total iron content in the steel slag.The difficulty of determination is simplified,the analysis time is shorten.A new and convenient testing method is designed through the test.In the test,the total iron contents of different grain size steel slag are analyzed by chemical methods and X fluorescence spectrum modern instruments.After the studying of the distribution experiment,it is verified that the experiment method is effective of the classification and using of modern instrumental analysis.At the same time,three detection modes are compared aimed at different steel slag samples used in experiment,they are oxidation burning sample,flux oxidation method and conventional analysis method respectively.Through the platinum pictures in experiments,it can be distinctly recognized the advantage of the flux packages oxidation method,and it can reduce the corrosion effect effectively.The research work of the test method is novel.
