The drum rewinder is an important equipment in paper production.It features complex mechanical structure and high level of automation.According to the analysis of production process and functional requirements,the rewinder control system is designed based on the SIMOTION motion system.For the complexity of the tension control system during the rewinder process,a self-tuning fuzzy adaptive PID controller is introduced in this paper.Through the study of PID control algorithm,a self-tuning fuzzy adaptive PID controller is introduced.MATLAB software is used to compare the control effect between the two algorithms.Finally,it is achieved in practical use on the SIMOTION system.Base on a central controller named SIMOTION D425,a rewinder control network and hardware system are constructed.WinCC Flexible software is used for the human-machine interface development.PROFINET is adopted in its communication connection.HMI software is also been designed user friendly.It is visualized and easy to use for the operator and engineer.SIMOTION SCOUT software is used for the monitor screen design.Drivers are connected through a unique intelligent communication link technology named DRIVE-CLi Q.The control program with modulation and standardization could decrease programming time.The hardware connection was simplified.All of those reduced the equipment cost.The control System is installed and under running.The result shows that SIMOTION control system has good performance in production,as well as in stability and ability to resist interference,and it has the advantages of easy replacement,good using effect,convenient maintenance and retaining expansion,etc.It can also to reduce the electrical equipment failure and production downtime significantly.
