3D Simulation Research Of Fancy Yarns Based On B Spline Curve Modeling Techniques

B spline curve can be used for 3D modeling of ordinary uniform yarn with its distinguishing features which are flexible design and partial modification without affecting the whole effect.Fancy yarns have beautiful appearance and unique structure that are different from the traditional yarn.It is difficult to set up 3D geometric model of fancy yarns because of the variety of color and appearance which are few public reports.This paper attempts to use B spline curve modeling technology to study the 3D simulation of the slub yarn and the folded yarn in fancy yarns.The central line,cross section and surface profile of the slub yarn and the folded yarn are designed by using B spline technique.The central line mathematical model of the slub yarn and the single yarn of folded yarn are established by using the cubic B spline curve function to control the direction of the central line.The cross section mathematical model of the slub yarn and the single yarn of folded yarn are established by using the quadratic B spline function to control the shape of cross section.The spatial grid structure model of the slub yarn and the single yarn of folded yarn are established by using B spline surface function to control the yarn surface smoothness.The illumination model and color model are established to realize the 3D effect and the diversity of the color of the slub yarn and the single yarn of folded yarn.A 3D geometric model is established to observe the 3D effect in space.The procedure are written by MFC platform of Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 software and Open GL on the Windows8.1 operating system.3D simulation of slub yarn and folded yarn are realized.The main parameters of slub yarn are slub size,slub distance,slub length,slub color.The main parameters of folded yarn are the twist,the length,the number of single yarn,the color of single yarn.The main parameters ofplain weave fabric are the diameter of yarn,the density of fabric,the position of thefirst warp and weft yarn.The result of 3D simulation is in accordance with the expectation which lays the foundation for the perfection of 3D simulation of fancy yarns.
