Objective:To establish an ICP-OES method for the determination of Na+,Ca2+ and Mg2+ in peritoneal dialysis solution. The method will be validated through Total Error and be used in the sample stability study to evident this method is accuracy and reliable Method:The determination wavelength was selected from the characteristic wavelength of Na,Ca and Mg?Na279.553nm,Ca 393.366nm,Mg 589.592nm?.The parameter of Plasma Flow?12L/min?,Neb flow?0.65L/min?,RF Power?1400w?and View Distance were selected. The Y was the internal standard. The method was developed and validated with the concept of total error. The validated method was used in the stability study test. Results:Linearity of the method for Na is good in the range from 1992.5mg/mL to 2995.0mg/L?r=0.99998?.The total error was all within the 5%risk of Prediction Intervals at each concentration level over the range.Linearity of the method for Ca is good in the range from 56.1mg/mL to 84.0mg/L?r=0.9998?.The total error was all within the 5%risk of Prediction Intervals at each concentration level over the range.Linearity of the method for Mg is good in the range from 4.9075mg/mL to 7.3550 mg/L?r=0.9999?.The total error was all within the 5%risk of Prediction Intervals at each concentration level over the range. The sample stability tests for 6 months all met the criterias by using this test method. Conclusions:The method was proved to be accurate, sensitive, quick, simple, and reliable. It can be used for the determination of Na+ Ca2+ and Mg2+ in Peritoneal Dialysis Solution.
