The production output of antibiotic is about 30%in China,and the penicillin occupies a large proportion.Owing to this,the degree of attention to penicillin wastewater pollution has gradually increased.Penicillin wastewater has such characteristics as complex composition,a high content of pollutants,high toxicity and problem to be biodegradable.If a good governance and directly discharge don't be adopted,it will cause serious threat to the safety of environment and ecology.Adhering to the principle of less investment,lower operation cost and better treatment effect,the engineering design of penicillin wastewater treatment system is carried out,which is based on understanding the characteristics of wastewater and access to related information at home and abroad.In this paper,the design scale was 8000m3/d,in which the high concentration wastewater and low concentration wastewater were 2000m3/d and 6000 m3/d respectively.Pointing at the high concentration of CODcr and sulfate for penicillin wastewater,the ultimate sewage treatment process was "multiple-effect evaporation—coagulating and sedimentation—UASB—CASS—Fenton oxidation—dissolved air flotation",which was regarded as the princial project.And was selected by learning,analysing and comparing the factors such as water quality and quantity,economic efficiency,maturity and reliability of the process,etc.The effluent can reach the limit value of water pollutant discharge in the newly established enterprises in "Discharge standards of water pollutants for pharmaceutical industry Fermentation products category(GB21906-2008)".According to the relevant technology,design specification and design annual.An outline of sewage and sludge treatment process equipment was given.Process,structure,architecture,electric,automatic control and general layout for sewage and sludge treatment structures and accessory building were designed.Main process diagram was drawn too.Project investment estimation and operation cost analysis were discussed in the paper.This design has a lot of advantages such as:advanced technology,better treatment effect,automatic operation,convenience to operation and management,lower investment and operation cost.As a consequence,it can provide reference for the treatment of penicillin wastewater.
