Wastewater generated by the packaging carton plant can be divided into two parts: starchwastewater and ink wastewater. Starch wastewater contains many organic matters,(chemicaloxygen demand COD varies between2000-10000mg/L), belonging to the high concentrationorganic wastewater. Wastewater mainly consists of starch, various sugars, amino acids, fats,organic acids, vitamins and enzymes, eggplant and other factors with four high and one lowfeature, which are high COD (8000-15000mg/L), high suspended solids (SS)(1000-3000mg/L), high total nitrogen values (240-540mg/L), high concentrations of phosphate(as P, about15-130mg/L) and a low pH value (4.2-5). The characteristics of ink wastewateris high oil content and the major pollutants are oil-based ink, water-based ink, starch granules,and trace amounts of insoluble impurities.This paper gives the introduction on the historicaldevelopment, the status quo and development trend of starch waste water and ink waste watertreatment processes comprehensively and systematically. The processing experiment will bemade focusing on the effluent of Dalian Jifengshengdao Packaging Carton Plant and theprocess designing, drawing process flowchart and civil construction chart are to be donebased on the above experiment. Considering the high COD and ss of ink wastewater andstarch wastewater, this paper will select coagulation and flotation, biological treatment,exposure to precipitation, sand filtering, activated carbon adsorption, CLO2sterilizationprocessing to deal with the mixture of two wastewater. Firstly, these two kinds of watershould be dealt with separately and made flotation respectively for the different coagulationreaction conditions of starch wastewater and ink wastewater. The sewage after septic processcan be mixed directly with wastewater after coagulation flotation for the biological treatment.The contents of the experiments are including: determining the optimal dosage in thewastewater treatment process, determining the optimal pH. The waste water enters intobio-contact oxidation device through coagulation flotation processing. Continuous operationof the biological contact oxidation process by adjusting the amount of aeration and HRT,removal of COD and SS is detected to determine the optimal aeration rate and the best HRT.Based on the experimental, the wastewater treatment process is determined: wastewaterproducing-pool grille-adjustment pool-coagulation flotation processing-the biologicaltreatment system-contact the sedimentation tank-sand filtration tank-Carbon tank-CLO2sterilization. On the basis of the process, engineering designs to draw the process flowdiagram and civil construction drawings are made according to the sewage daily output ofJifengshengdao Packaging Carton Factory.
