The low rank coal resources occupy a large proportion in existing coal reserves in our country, and it is difficult for scale application to low rank coals because they have high ash content and non-caking ability. Preparing Hypercoal by high temperature extraction is an important mean to upgrading modification and effective use for low rank coals, in recent years, coal-chemists have explored the extraction mechanism, and have confirmed that Hypercoals prepared from low rank coals have high caking ability, so they have good prospects as a binder for coal blending.The topic taked caking mechanism in research, providing theoretical reference for coke making use of Hyercoals. Hypercoals were prepared under different extraction temperatures, solvents and coal ranks, and the impact factors of the caking ability of Hypercoals were analyzed by caking index test. The property of the caking compounds of Hypercoals wwa analyzed by ultrasonic classified extraction experiments at room temperature. The cokes were prepared from Hypercoals, and the effect of adding Hypercoals on coke quality was analyzed by morphology structure test.The results showed that, the technology of high temperature extraction had an obvious effect on deoxidization and hydrogenation, the caking index increased with the raw coal rank increased, and the Hypercoal prepared from lignite by wash oil at 380?had the highest caking index. Asphaltene and preasphaltene were caking components in Hypercoal, they were benzene or naphthalene series compounds with aliphatic structure.The coke had high strength when adding Hypercoal prepared from lignite by wash oil at380?into 1/3 coke coal. This suggests that, Using Hypercoals from low rank coals that instead of coking coal to make coke is feasible.
