Research On The Application Of Scale Inhibitor On Coal Flotation

Flotation in the coal preparation is a very important process. With increase of fine coal and mudding degree, the flotation process of slime entrainment and coating seriously affect the quality of flotation concentrate. Inhibition mechanism of scale inhibitor is mainly chelation, adsorption and dispersion. Based on the inhibition mechanism, the scale inhibitors are used in flotation of coal slime, disperse and inhibit gangue, and improve flotation effect. With the primary slime from the Dayuan coal preparation plant as the research object, a series of flotation experiments were carried out in different types of the water treatment agent, selecting some scale inhibitor being helpful to the coal slime.SHMP, Sodium polyphosphate, MA/AA, PBTCA, and HPMA can increase the yield of clean coal and make the ash of clean coal remain changed, increasing the ash of tailings, and the faultless index of flotation substantially rise. When the dosage of Sodium polyphosphate is 1500g/t, the clean coal yield increased 5.09%, the ash of cleans was reduced 0.62%, faultless index of flotation increased by 4.76%. SHMP, Sodium polyphosphate, MA/AA and HPMA could increase the potential absolute value of particle surface, improve dispersal of particle in the slurry, obviously improve a series of flotation indexes, can promote flotation selectively. So, they could become the flotation regulator of coal slime.STTP, AMP-95, PAAS and Tannin could significantly increased the yield of clean coal, faultless index of flotation is also significantly increased, but the ash cleans increased slightly. When the dosage of PAAS is 3000g/t, the clean coal yield increased 16.04%, the ash of cleans increased 0.63%. Four types of agents can reduce coal and gangue surface potential, and the inhibition effect of the gangue minerals is insignificant. They can reduce the slime cover, eliminate the impact of slime in the process of flotation, promoted flotation. So, STTP, AMP-95, PAAS, Tannin could become the flotation regulator of coal slime.PESA, PASP, PAA, TH-241, TS-1213, TH-1100 and TH-904 could decreased the yield of clean coal and the ash of cleans, and have a certain inhibitory effect on flotation. When the dosage of TH-241 is 3000g/t, the clean coal yield decreased 10.89%, the ash of cleans decreased 0.75%. Seven types of agents have a certain inhibitory effect on high ash slime. So, they can be used as inhibitors of the high ash slime.Sodium pyrophosphate, Sodium hypophosphite, HEDP, ATMP, ATMP·Na4 and ATMP·Na5 have no obvious effect on flotation, so, they are not suitable as regulator of slime flotation.
