Epoxy vinyl ester resin was synthesized by bisphenol A epoxy resin and acrylic acid. The structure of the products was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrum(FT-IR). We studied the influence of different contents of crosslinking agent, curing agent and accelerator on the curing properties and adhesive properties of the curing resins. The adhesive properties of the curing resins modified by nitrile butadiene rubber were obviously increased.Vinyl propyl MT silicone resin was synthesized by divinyltetramethyldisiloxane and n-propyltrimethoxysilane as T chain unit at the first time. The experiment explored the influence of different process conditions(the amount of water,acid and base,the reaction temperature, the reaction time and the activity of MViMVi) on the synthesis of vinyl silicone resin. The structures had been characterized by FT-IR and 1H-NMR. The molecular weight and its distribution, dynamic viscosity and refractive index were determined by gel permeation chromatography, rheometer and Abbe refractometer. The R/Si of the silicone resin was 1.45~1.68, the number-average molecular weights(Mn) was between 2318~3258g/mol and the average molecular weight distribution(Mn/Mw) was 0.64. The dynamic viscosity of the silicone resin was 380~4720mPa·s, with the refractive index of 1.4375~1.4415. Experimental results indicated that the average molecular weight, dynamic viscosity and refractive index of the silicone resin decreased with the increasement of R/Si.Bisphenol A epoxy vinyl ester resin modified with vinyl propyl MT silicone resin could combine the good performances of these two kinds of resins. To cure the modified resins with different resin compositional formulations using six different monomers as crosslinking agents, which are styrene, dicyclopentadiene, vinyl acetate, methyl methacrylate, butyl methacrylate and hydroxyethyl acrylate in the presence of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide as curing agent(initiator) and Cobalt naphthenate as accelerator. The modified resins' change rule in the curing properties, mechanical properties, adhesive performance, thermal resistance, electrical insulation and hydrophobic properties was researched. The results showed that the modified resins had good adhesive performance, hydrophobic and electrical insulation properties. The shearing strength of bonding carbon steel plates was up to 10 MPa. The water contact angle was up to 104 o. The dielectric strength was up to 46 kV/mm.The research work provides some theoretical basises for the actual production and applications of these materials in the field of adhesive, architectural, mechanical, electrical, composite materials and LED packaging. It has a certain guiding meaning for the required properties of these materials by optimization and preparation in different application environments.
