Research On The Theory And Application Of Natural Dyeing In Textile And Fashion Design

As the concept of sustainable development has been accepted by the whole society, the traditional natural dyeing which was based on well environmental protection now again attract people attention. At the same time, it serves as a kind of excellent national intangible cultural heritage should be paid attention to the inheritance and innovation, and to be protected its value and service for modern design and life. However the continuation of traditional is not to repeat history, the innovation of design seems to be the development.Natural dyeing in costume design as a starting point of this subject is a global context researching. therefore the author visited more than 8 countries such as China, Japan, Germany, Italy, Spanish, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, and attended more than 10 international exhibitions including the 2015 international home textiles exhibition in Frankfurt, Germany, and the 2014 ITCC fashion and costume exhibition in South Korea, etc. The author also won the gold award of the 2014 international home textile competition in China, and other awards. And comparing the current research between abroad and inland and analyzing the market application status also including 11 costume brands of natural dyeing clothing. The author written records of more than 10000 words, and there are six academic articles has being published. Those research analysis dates displayed that the natural dyeing clothing brands are towards specialization, individuation, quality development, but the serious product homogeneity, and a lack of diversity provides a broad development space in the aspect of art and design. So that how to broaden the products' types and design adornment space of natural dyeing, and combine the modern background, mix the use of composite materials and textile technology have become development trend of natural dyeing.The article based on the research and application of natural dyeing in the textile and fashion design, which is also based on market researching analysis in our country, to discuss how to keep the warm and gentle features of color in natural dyeing, and the soft change of its artistic aesthetic feeling in design. It also focused on how to combine with modern textile processing technology, and keep the eyes under an international vision of design idea to inject more forms in textile and fashion, which will promote the artistic of modern natural dyeing products. It also proved that how to take advantages of national intangible cultural heritage and using it for modern design is an important way of innovation for us. The author eventually designed 6 pieces of fabric fabrics, and 6 pieces of costume series for modern white-collar female of the city.
