Information technology is a hot issue of attention and the focus of investment in the 21st century. The information construction is highly valued by all the countries in the world (such as China, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East). With the national strategic planning such as National Big Data, the Internet+, and Cloud Computing, and in the view of currently available technologies, Optic Fiber Communication will always be the core of information construction in this century.As the basic materials of optical fiber, quartz glass is the core of optical fiber technology. The optical indexes and geometric parameters of quartz glass tube are all important factors which could influence the performance of optical fiber. Its optical indexes are up to the nature and raw materials of quartz glass, whereas its geometric parameters and precision completely depend on the process of forming.During the forming process of quartz glass tube, the geometrical parameters (outer diameter and wall thickness) are mainly affected by technological parameters and equipment precision which include temperature, gas pressure inside tubes, feeding speed and pulling speed. Basing on the study on material characteristics, this paper concludes the influences of each technological parameter to geometrical parameters. Through an amount of experiments and combining relevant technological parameters which are collected by modern sensor technology and computer technology, we have established the regression model between technological parameters and geometrical parameters which will provide theoretical basis for the forming of high precision quartz glass tube. We have established control theory through advanced control techniques. With comparison of products before and after improvement, we can find that their geometrical parameters have been greatly improved. We have also studied the variation tendency of geometrical parameters of quartz glass tube under the interaction influence of multiple parameters. And study results could provide theoretical basis for practical production. Improvement plan for forming equipments of high precision quartz glass tube has been proposed which is able to improve the product quality greatly in the initial tests.
