Chemical reactions occur on the molecular scale. The mixing rate between the reactant molecules has a significant impact on rapid reaction, such as the selectivity and the quality of products.A rotating packed bed (RPB) can greatly intensify the process of mixing and transfer. RPB has been widely used in many fields such as preparation of nanomaterials, acid gas absorption, water deoxygenation. Studies show that premixed structure has an important impact on the micromixing in RPB. RPB with one inlet or two inlets was studied in many papers. However, RPB with 3 inlets has not been studied up to now. It is meaningful that mixing among 3 inlets in the industrial applications, such as the process with products cycling, the reactions with 3 raw materials.In this paper, CFD is chosen to simulate the macromixing performance in pre-mixer with 3 inlets. Intensity of segregation (Is) is chosen to judge the process. Micromixing in pre-mixer and RPB are studied by experiment methods. Some findings are listed below:(1) In the chapter of CFD simulation in this paper, the influence of parameters (different feeding methods?premixed angle?inlet velocity) on macromixing in pre-mixer is studied. The results show that the length of the pre-mixer has an important influence. The length of pre-mixer should be neither too long nor too short to make sure residence time in pre-mixer not too long and macromixing at a good condition.(2) Micromixing in RPB. Two kinds of pre-mixer are designed: pre-mixer 1(the angle of side tube and middle tube is 45°)?pre-mixer 2(the angle of side tube and middle tube is 90°). The influence of parameters (volume flow rate, the concentration of hydrogen ion, volume flow ratio) on the micromixing in RPB is almost the same with pre-mixer 1 and pre-mixer 2. But the degree of influence is different. In this paper, pre-mixer 2(the angle of side tube and middle tube is 90°) is better.
