The jep loop reactor (JLR) is multiphase reactor, which has excellent performance in mixing.The macromixing and micromixing was studied experimentally in this reactor with volume is 80L.In the macromixing experiment, using water, water-sand mixture and glycerol solution as experimental matials, KCl saturated solution as tracer. The circulation flow(external loop flow controlled circulating pump) and the nozzle positions(the ratio of the distance from the diversion tube to nozzle and diversion tube diameter) affect the parameters such as macromixing time, internal recycle speed and the ratio of internal and external recycle was investigate. The result indicated: with different materials, the macromixing time shortened as the circulation flow icreased, but internal recycle speed increased as it increased. With different materials, the circulation flow affected the ratio of internal and external recycle differently, which was between 2 to 5 times; When the nozzle positions was 0.313, the homogeneous material's macromixing time was smaller; When it was 0.625, water and water-sand materials'ratio of internal and external recycle achieved maximum, which were 3.71 and 4.21. When it was 0.313, the glycerol solution matial's ratio of internal and external recycle achieved maximum, which was 3.48.In the micromixing experiment, competitive parallel reactions with acid-base hydrolysis and ethyl chloroacetate hydrolysis were used as the working system, gas chromatography was used to analyze the ethanol yield (by-produce yield). The parameters such as the flow ratio, circulation flow and the nozzle position affect by-produce yield was investigate. The result indicated: the by-produce yield decreased as flow ratio decreased, when the flow ratio less than 0.00313, the by-products yield was no longer decreased as it decreased, which was about 0.38; When the nozzle position was 0.625, the by-products yield achieved minimum, which was 0.325; the by-products yield decreased as circulation flow increased; When the circulation flow bigger, the by-products yield basically unchanged, which was around 0.283.The experimental studied of the jet loop reactor to the design and scale-up in industry design has some reference value.
