Coal is a kinds of nonrenewable energy source,people always call it as the food of industry,workers exploit coal resources must pay for hard works.in general,there have two ways of mining due to different coal mine at different depths,which are mines mining and open mining,as there are only about 7.5 percent opencast coal mine in china,so,most of coal sources is exploited at mines.A mine ventilation system is divided into three parts:inlet section,out section and workplace section,normaly,the ventilation system of inlet portion and out portion are never changed,but workplace's air quantity always adjusted according to the requirements of the development.Although many measures were taken to regulate and control the air flow in the mine ventilation process,low effective,high cost and manage problems exist,so,this paper propose use air curtain to cutoff airflow and control ventilation based on the problems.air curtain has many advantages,such as high effective,no pollution and without effecting production,so research the role of air curtain in the process of ventilation have great significance.Nowdays,mine fire accidents has caused huge damage to companys and country,even taken lots of workers life,meanwhile,fire complex and rescue difficult happened by the reason of special circumstances in mine.above all,study flow field of fire period full of great significance to reduce accident damage and guide people how to escape the fire accident.As CFD technology has advantages of low cost,more effective,repeated calculation,etc.so the method was gradually adopted by many experts and scholars.first,this paper divide the model mesh by use of the pre-processing software Gambit,and then use fluent14.0(developed by ANSYS software company)to research and simulate the fire flow fied,cutofff airflow by air curtain and the role of air curtain in fire,it can make the result visualization by use reasonable computational models and set correct parameters.at the same time,in order to check the simulation result,it is a good way to ensure the reliability of result by calculate the values in the theory according to mine ventilation knowledge and compare it with simulation result.Firstly,this paper simulated fan style,pressure and width of air curtain for mine impact of air flow rate and cutoff pressure,it is showed that under the situation of tunnel model and ventilation velocity,the best working parameters of fanstyle,pressure jump values and width were 13,600 pa,0.76 m,and the air flow rate can reached a maximum of 93.12%.secondly,the article studied the flow field when the fire happended under the situation of air curtain installed or no,at last,it come to a conclusion that air curtain is useful on prevent high temperature flue caused by fire to enter in the tunnel which the air curtain was installed,the temperature and density in the tunnel were reduced about 15?and 1%~1.6%,namely,it reach a fall of 20 percent and 40 percent to 60 percent.
