| Compared with traditional materials, composite materials have superior properties, such as high specific strength and specific modulus. With advances in technology, composite ma-terials are more and more widely used in engineering structures include a wide variety of aer-ospace vehicles. The mechanical analysis of composite structures is playing an increasingly important role. Finite element method as a numerical analysis method is generally applicable by most Computer Aided Engineering software as a theoretical support. Composites structure analysis element module is most essential for CAE software. This paper describes development of Finite Element System based laminate shell mechanical analysis module for the general purposed CAE software SiPESC. The module is suitable for a variety of ply modes of laminate plates and shells, and it provide analysis results including displacement, layered stress, natural frequencies and mode shapes for a general laminate structure.Since the composite material’s processing technology and structural features are more complicated than traditional metal or alloy, so generally, failure modes of the composites are more than those of traditional material. As an important composite material, composite hon-eycomb sandwich panels also have a complex inner structure and multiple failure modes. Therefore for honeycomb sandwich plate structural member, after a structure analysis, various failure modes must be checked based on a series of empirical formula. This kind of checking is repeating work, which wastes a lot of valuable manpower. This paper develops a composite honeycomb sandwich plate member checking module based on the post-processing module of SiPESC, which checks the result of the finite element analysis. The module has a certain de-gree of openness that the user can customize the checking formulae according to the actual needs. With results comparing of structural analysis between commercial CAE software and the modules this paper realized, it proves that the modules described in this paper functions well and the results can be accepted. |
