With the development of automatic control technology and information technology as well as the increasing application of new dyeing machine, the requirements of dyeing machine controllers are more and more highly, in addition to realization of the basic functions even with a good Human-machine interaction, a general hardware and software modules, a improvement information management and other functions. Therefore, the embedded control system solution has become a cost-effective upgrade dyeing machine controller trend.This paper reviewed the development of batch dyeing machine controller from domestic and foreign, defined the dyeing machine control requirements by analyzing processing requirements, then researched a modular dyeing machine controller based on ARM and Linux. The control system uses a design concept of modular, this system is divided into human-machine interaction module, analog control module and digital logic module. Human-machine interaction module based on embedded Linux system platform, adopts ARM 11 core board of S3C6410 to provide hardware support, adopts the Qt, which is a cross-platform GUI development tool, to achieve human-machine interface application development. Analog control module with ARM as the CPU, according to the classification of batch dyeing machine analog input-output signals, designs Pt100 temperature acquisition module, current loop input module, current loop output module and pulse input module circuit, using the V/F converter circuit and PWM/I converter circuit instead of the ADC and DAC chip, that achieved the desired of dyeing machine controller analog input-output with a lower cost and higher performance. Digital logic module uses common PLC, digital logic implementation of the action based on the action commands and parameters from upper-controller. Through the modular of dyeing machine controller, the human-machine interaction layer, analog control layer and digital logic layer are separated, it reduces the change of software modifications when the dyeing machine control system changed.Through the functional test of each module and the entire system controller shows that, the modular dyeing machine controller designed in this paper realized the basic function of batch dyeing machine and has the characteristics of simple in operation, friendly human-machine interaction, easily to modify the hardware and software expansion, it suits for existing dyeing control equipment renovation and has a good prospects for engineering applications.
