The distributed control system(DCS) widely used in the chemical industry, to get automatic control of hazardous processes, friendly interface, easy to program, welcomed by users, but high cost. Tianjin Botian Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. have a plant of 17 million ton per years Emulsion-Polyvinyl Chloride, was built in October 31, 2013, the use of Yokogawa DCS to realize the automatic feed materials,polymerization control, VCM recycling and spray drying. And the control of pressure, temperature, flow and level was effective; operation was safer, reduced the intensity of the operators, and ensured product quality.This study was aim at the production automatic control, deeply analyzed the production process and control requirements, through the comparison, we choose the Yokogawa Centum VP control system, completed control system hardware design and software development. the hardware design includes the controller selection, the card mounting and wiring, control net(VNET) connection etc.; Software development including VCM flute control, catalyst flute control, The temperature control of polymerization reaction is the most important control loop, the cascade control and feed-forward control, can very good stability control temperature, added the reaction heat calculation, let calorie as compensation of reactor temperature control, better solved the problem of the temperature lag, and control effect is very good, about ±0.2 degree centigrade; Established the model of pot temperature,jacket temperature and cooling water flow, analyzed the PID control, cascade control and simulink with Matlab. Simulation results show that the linear hysteretic systems, cascade control is better than a single PID control, PID parameter can be applied to actual production.Research qualified that: Yokogawa DCS can control the system well. The material added more accurate, polymerization temperature control is more stable, CPU, communication cables redundant design, grounding design, shield design, redundant power design, to ensure that the system has high reliability.
