Due to the unique physical and chemical properties, ammonia is normally stored in a tank or container adopting the method of increasing pressure or lowering temperature,stringent storage conditions, variety of human error and the defective equipment make the liquid ammonia leakage accidents complex, with various associated accidents, wide influence and large harmfulness. So study the liquid ammonia tank leak and diffusion mechanism, conducting scientific accident consequence simulation will make a great significance to the accident emergency rescue and risk assessment in advance.This paper summarizes four external causes of leakage for liquid ammonia storage tank, seven influencing factors and make a detailed analysis. Under the condition of relative ammonia concentration standard, make a five-grade division of ammonia toxicity hazard area from inhalation reaction to immediate death. Summarize three leakage source model of liquid ammonia tank leakage on the basis of studying the dynamics of accident leakage and diffusion. More importantly, establishes dynamic diffusion model according to the Gauss diffusion model and the superposition model theory.Based on the powerful calculation and programming function of MATLAB, the author compiles a rapid simulation system for gas diffusion. The system has the characteristics of simple operation, multiple functions as well as fast running speed. It realizes dynamic simulation analysis for the leakage ammonia, visual output for simulation results, The system operating after ammonia tank leak accident happen, able to timely and accurately simulate real-time concentration change of ammonia diffusion, make a division of ammonia toxicity hazard area combined with factory layout and draw concentration curves for sensitive concerns. The consequences can provide technical support for enterprise accident emergency decision.At last part of the paper, use the system combined with the material of FengTai power plant of HuaiZhe coal company, the leakage risk and accident impact of the new ammonia tank were simulated and studied. Respectively simulates 15min finite time leakage accident and single tank transient burst leakage accident. According to the results, center concentration and coordinates of the ammonia cloud has been calculated, dynamic division of the hazardous area has been carried out, ammonia concentration of concentrated area has been predicted. Then put forward relevant comments about accident emergency and prevention control measures in the end.
