The acetone explosion accident is increasing day by day. How to prevent and control the acetone explosion is the key point of the safety production of acetone. Inert gas explosion suppression technology can prevent and control the explosion effectively, is one of the important contents of research. The study of the explosion limit of acetone and the inhibition of the inert gas on the acetone explosion can provide reference for the explosion suppression measures. Due to the low boiling point of acetone and easy to volatile, the conditions of storage and transport of acetone generally is the normal temperature and atmospheric pressure,so the study on the explosion limit of acetone under normal temperature and normal and the effect of inert gas on the explosion limit of acetone has practical significance.The explosion limits of acetone vapor were determined by the FRTA explosion limit tester and the suppression of acetone vapor explosion was studied by using N2 and CO2,which are used in inert gases commonly. The main results are as follows:?1?Under normal temperature and pressure, the explosion limit range of acetone is2.55%-13.44%.?2?The temperature has a certain effect on the explosion limit of acetone. The test results show that the explosion range of acetone is 2.53%13.87% at 60?and the explosive range of acetone is 2.52%14.15% at 100?. In the range of 20 100, the lower limit of the explosion of acetone is not very great, the upper limit of the explosion is slightly larger, but the two changes are not very obvious.?3?Inert gas N2 and CO2 on the explosion limit of acetone has certain inhibitory effect.Tests show that the best concentration of explosion suppression of pure N2 is 49%; the best concentration of explosion suppression of pure CO2 is 49%, the explosion suppression effect of CO2 is better than that of N2 under the same volume of inert gas. When the N2/CO2 volume ratio is 1:2, the best concentration of explosion suppression is 43%, at this point the explosion suppression effect is the best. The volume fraction of N2/CO2 in the mixed gas of CO2 is high, the better the effect of acetone on explosion suppression.?4?The effect of temperature on the explosion suppression of inert gas is certain, and the optimal suppression concentration of N2 and CO2 increase with the increase of the temperature. When the temperature is 60?, the optimal explosion suppression concentration of N2 is 50%and the optimal explosion suppression concentration of CO2 is 43%.When the initial temperature is 100?, the optimal explosion suppression concentration of N2 is 52%and the optimal explosion suppression concentration of CO2 is 45%. Inhibitory effect of N2 was more sensitive to temperature, temperature of N2 explosion suppression effect is more significant.
