Around the needs of sustainable development of marine economy, according to the development trend of marine antifouling coatings and the antifouling paint problems and key technological backwardness situation, referring to the experience in the development of novel antifouling coatings, Starting from the design and synthesis of low surface energy antifouling resin, the silicone modified acrylic resin was prepared systematically, and the application of its marine antifouling coating was studied, which provided a scientific basis for the development of environmentally and friendly antifouling coatings.This paper began with the amino silicone oil as raw material, with excellent performance and low price of acrylic resin as the foundation, by changing the amount of silicone oil and viscosity, a series of amino silicone modified acrylic resin with low surface energy properties were synthesized and designed, and characterization and detection of resin were got with the use of HNMR, SEM, DTG, DSC and other means. The results showed that amino silicone modified acrylic resins were synthesized, and the viscosity and amount of silicone oil had a great effect on the performance of the product. Compared with the unmodified resin, hydrophobic propertiesof modified resin increased with the viscosity of silicone oil increased, the water contact angle respectively can be increased to 91.5 °,103.6 °, 108.6 °, which showed the low surface energy. When the amount of amino silicone oil was 1%, the films in the flexibility, hardness and other conventional properties were optimum performance, otherwise the films had smooth surface, good thermal stability, the reduced glass transition temperature with the increase of viscosity.Secondly, with the above series modified acrylic resin as film-forming material, by adding fillers and antifouling agent, antifouling coatings with low surface energy were prepared,and the effects of the pigment and filler content to the antifouling coating performance were explored, the study found that adhesion, hardness, etc. were decreased with amino silicone oil content decreased, and water contact angle, flexibility and amino silicone amounts were positively related,then in spite of the pigment and binder ratio on water contact angle, adhesion, etc. had little effect, it would increase the coating hardness,make flexibility decreased, and the increasing content of gas phase silicon dioxide in the coating made water contact angle and hardness were improved.Finally, marine antifouling coatings prepared were evaluated from three aspects of marine bacteria, marine microalgae, marine animal and marine hanging plate test. The result found in the marine bacterial adhesion inhibitory experiments showed four kinds of coating rate: c(1%)>a(1%)>b(1%)> PGMA. The result found in the marine microalgae adhesion inhibitory experiments showed four kinds of coating rate: c(1%)>b(1%)>a(1%)> PGMA. The result found in the marine animal attachment inhibitory experiments showed four kinds of coating rate: b(1%)>c(1%)>a(1%)> PGMA. By marine hanging plate test, the result that b(1%) and c(1%) antifouling coatings had good antifouling effect and the results of PGMA and a(1%) antifouling coatings were serious. Therefore,marine hanging plate test results and indoor hanging plate test consistently showed amino silicone oil modified acrylic resin antifouling coatings obtained good antifouling performance.
