The ventilation that unified inlet wind and subarea ventilation of multiple grade base stations outlet wind was adopted in central and western area of Huashugou Iron Mine. After 40 years mining, there existed many mined-out areas and abandoned roadway engineering, and the ventilation network was not matched with the original design, parts of the fans didn’t work properly, which caused the loss of designed functions, the production safety of underground mine was affected by these factors. So, the existing ventilation system could not meet the production requirements, it’s necessary to transform and optimize the ventilation system.The article take the ventilation system of central and western areas of Huashugou underground iron mine as the research object, after referring to a lot of related literatures, combined with the investigation, measurements and comprehensive analysis of ventilation system, several technology-feasible optimization schemes were presented.In order to choose the best ventilation optimization schemes, combined with qualitative and quantitative methods were used in this article. First, qualitative analysis was done to ventilation optimization schemes for each area, the schemes with larger advantage were selected as the primary selection schemes. Then, for the schemes with different but considerable advantages and can’t be determined as the best scheme, multi-objective decision method was used to analyze advantages of each scheme, and finally confirmed the best scheme of each area.The selected best scheme of each area and 2640 m intake air system make up the complete ventilation system of central and western areas. First the network calculating figure of ventilation system of central and western areas was established, 3Dvent was used for calculating. The dissolute and fans were optimized, ventilation structure were arranged properly and the optimization of network parameters of ventilation was completed. The optimization and calculating results showed that the optimization results of ventilation in this article was feasible and can be used for guiding the production.
