With the rapid development of modern industry, the application of NC equipment plays an important role in the manufacturing industry. So the demand for mechanical and electrical composite personnel increased. Therefore, how to cultivate the high quality NC talents that meet the needs of the society has become a major problem faced by the relevant subjects of higher education institutions. At present, in the domestic colleges and universities generally used two equipment: Production type NC and Teaching type NC table. The main purpose of this topic was to design an appropriate CNC experiment platform,which can both be used in production and practical teaching; and proposed a feasible and effective solution – Case Based Reasoning(CBR, Case-Base Reasoning) in the CNC Machine Fault Diagnosis. According to the characteristics of fault features in CNC machine tool, a method based on the extraction of feature weights compatible rough set was proposed.In this paper, the current status of the development of NC laboratory equipment and the inadequate were analyzed. Then the design idea was proposed,which can be used in the production and skill training. According to the principle of open design, based on the FANUC-0i Mate system, using modular design ideas to design the system’s software and hardware, such as machine control system,I/O port, Link I/O, fault diagnosis and so on. Secondly, on the open CNC experiment platform, the hardware connection and software of each component are completed. Thirdly, CNC machine fault diagnosis system was set detailed design and the PMC program was written. Finally, the system was debugged, and combined with the content of CNC teaching, the development of the five teaching experiment project was completed. The result of debugging and running shows that the system achieves the expected design goal.
