The center of furniture design is to meet the needs of persons, because furniture is a tool for people’s daily life. We can see that the designers thought about the function of a furniture and the minds of people from a piece of furniture. Ming-style furniture, as a bright pearl of Chinese furniture history, has high practical value in people’s daily life, and reflects the people’s spiritual pursuit. This paper analyzed the three aspects of material, shape and decoration of Ming-style furniture from the perspective of humanized design. Finally, this paper offers a reference for the inheritance and innovation of Chinese traditional culture in modern product design. The research purpose of this paper aims at two aspects. On the one hand, the furniture is to serve the people, there are physiological needs and psychological needs, they are a whole. The psychological needs is influenced by the social life and cultural tradition. On the other hand, nowadays, great changes have taken place in people’s living environment, new materials and new technology makes the use function of the Ming-style furniture is gradually fading. Culture and aesthetic function of the Ming-style furniture is further highlighted. This paper is not to repeat the harvest of other researchers in the Ming-style furniture. The function of the Ming-style furniture and human emotion were interpreted from the angle of humanized design. The Ming-style furniture is not just a life appliance, and it is seen as a bridge between the human mind and the physical world. Therefore, the traditional culture and aesthetic ideas in the material, shape and decoration are deeply analyzed from people’s feelings by this paper. The main conclusions of this paper are four aspects. First, the ancients did not simply take the wood as the raw material for the production in the Ming-style furniture timber. The life rhythm of the trees appear again in people’s life appliances, because people’s t feelings and aesthetic ideas were injected into the design of the Ming-style furniture. Second, square and round is one of the most representative features of the Ming-style furniture shape. Square and round have different not only function but also spiritual symbol. Therefore, the humanized design should consider the use of the product function and the spirit symbol of product form. This product modeling is not empty that rooted in the historical and cultural soil. Third, the decorative patterns of the Ming-style furniture across the boundaries of objects and people, and enter a person’s rich inner world on the basis of the original function, because decoration is an expression of human affection. It turn a daily life appliance into a carrier of people’s affection. Fourth, the author designed a "green desk". In the function of modern desk has been very perfect, but there is a problem of homogenization. The desk design got inspiration from the Ming-style furniture and considered the actual situation of modern life. The integration of traditional and modern enhance the user’s emotional experience to the desk from the angle of humanized design.
