Recently, in our country, the over gas accumulation in the upper corner is a very important reason of the frequent gas accidents in the coal mine, so it is very important to take measures to control the concentration of gas in the upper corner.This paper minutely studies the 88501 fully mechanized working face in Shendong mining area of Baode with high concentration of gas and the law of gas in the goaf distribution and migration. And it also systematically discusses various influence of the two main factors, which are occurrence condition of coal seam and mining technology. In the mining field, it respectively measures 88501 fully mechanized working face and goaf gas concentration distribution with using piecewise method and pipe burying method. Meanwhile, it also summarizes the law of migration. Combined with the specific circumstances, it establishes three-dimensional numerical model with the FLUENT to simulate the law of gas migration in the upper corner, which often easily causes accumulation of gas overrun. Finally, according to the measured data and research results, it raises comprehensive treatment methods which are the management of tail left tunnel, change the mode of ventilation, working surface gas drainage, average-pressure ventilation to cure 88501 fully mechanized working face.Through field construction and effect test, it basically eliminates the phenomenon of gas accumulation in the upper corner and security risks, which provides an effective solution for the problem of safety production of coal mine. It is worthy of popularization and application.
