Spray roasting is also called the spray pyrolysis. It has got rapid development and has made many breakthroughs in experimental research as a new smelting technology. However, it is barely used in the industrial production. In this paper, the chloride solution is used as the raw material solution and the investigations are focused on the industrial application. The chloride spray roasting system and products are investigated based on the equipments, the monitoring system, the roasting process and so on.In this paper, the chloride solution spray roasting system can receive the materials from the bottom of the furnace and the Cyclone dust collector. The obtained gas condensates and separates with the liquid in the condenser after dust collected. The obtained hydrochloric acid flows into the acid vessel. The rest of the gases enter the absorption tower and then are released into the air. The entire system does not discharge harmful gas and dust while it operates normal, which achieve pollution-free and clean metallurgy. In the high temperature zone of the furnace, the thermal decomposition process of the metal chloride solution is related to multiple chemical reactions. The temperature of the reaction system and the chloride solution concentration are the main influence factors. The partial pressure of H2O and HC1 has an impact on the process. Online monitoring these factors is helpful to understand the status of the production in time, which has a positive influence on producing oxide powder with high quality. In this paper, the Visual Basic6.0 visual programming language is used to exploit the full process monitoring system based on Advantech PCI-1711 data acquisition card. The temperature of the furnace, the flow rate of carrier gas, the pressure of the tunnel and the liquid flow rate of the raw material solution will be monitored online in the production process. The system can improve the process because the production situation is dominated in time and the all the data are analyzed. The monitoring system is affected by various interferences while running, which causes the obtained data to seriously distort. The software filter and the capacitor filter are used to filtering the interference effects, and has been proven to achieve good results. In order to make the operation of system to be more humanized, the paper explores a good software for the sensor to demarcate the appropriate temperature calibration, pressure calibration and the liquid flow calibration for peristaltic pump. The demarcation is so accurate and convenient and it can also revise the mathematical model anytime. At last, cerium chloride solution is used as the raw material solution to produce cerium oxide by the monitoring system. The temperature and the concentration of the raw material solution are controlled to determine the optimum reaction conditions. The paper studied the effects of the conversion rate and the impact of morphology through cerium chloride spray roasting to produce cerium oxide under different temperatures and different raw material solution concentration conditions with chemical analysis, X-Ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy analysis. There is an important significance for further study on mechanism of cerium chloride spray roasting reaction with the methods of collecting and recording temperature data, analyzing of changes in temperature of each part in the reaction process in the system, knowing the heat change react and heat transfer process changes in furnace during the reaction. The pressure of the inner furnace tube will also correspondingly change during the chemical reaction. Collecting the pressure data is helpful to study the reaction mechanism.
