With the development of CNC technology, the demand of NC talents is increasing. In order to better and more economical to train CNC talents, the thesis developed a set of the teaching four-axis CNC drilling and milling machine and its synchronization simulation system. This system is simple, modular and cheap. It is suitable to universities and vocational colleges' students for NC experiment.The system is consists of PC, single-chip control board, stepping motor driver and the four-axis drilling and milling machine. First of all, it is the structures of the drilling and milling machine and the selection of the appropriate drive device. The thesis has developed the operating system of the four-axis drilling and milling machine base on VB6.0. The thesis has also finished the study of communication technology, interpolation technology, stepping motor control technology and NC code compiler technology of the system.With the help of the modular design, the operator can understand the control process of the NC program clearly. First, the simulation software determines the running direction and order of each axis based on the input NC code, and forms ASC II code,passing it to the microcontroller. Microcontroller according to different ASC II code through programming process in advance changes P4 and P5 port level, and passes the pulse signal to the signal input side of the stepper motor drivers. The stepper motor drivers control the output phase current according to the input signal and pass it to the stepper motors. The stepper motors according to the change of phase current drive the entire four-axis drilling and milling machine.The thesis is divided into 8 chapters. Chapter 1 introduces the background and significance of this thesis; chapter 2 introduces the overall composition of the system; chapter 3 introduces the structural design of the four-axis drilling and milling machine; chapter 4 explores the operational control of the stepping motor; chapter 5 introduces a number of technical issues of the system; chapter 6 introduces the design and functions of the operating system of the four-axis drilling and milling machine; chapter 7 introduces the way to build and debug the system; chapter 8 is summary and forecast.
