Artificial periodic sampling and template matching algorithm is replaced by machine vision technology in two-dimensional continuous dot-matrix code presswork quality inspection system.It is adapted to the printing industry of high productivity because it can overcome slow speed,false detection of shortcomings and forbid to produce batches of substandard goods. So the research on this system is necessary.The dot-matrix code print quality inspection system is designed and implemented based on the analysis of the structure and characteristic of the continuous dot-matrix codes. FPGA is the control center of the system and is used to image pre-processing.The main work of this thesis includes:(1)The architecture of the two-dimensional continuous dot-matrix code print quality inspection system is designed. Its key subsystems are also designed and implemented that include lighting, FPGA control center & image pre-processing system, image capturing system and PC machine;(2) The image preproceesing,localization and decoding algorithm of the dot-matrix code are designed in detail.The median filter algorithm is improved which is implemented by FPGA and the positioning algorithm is improved.Finally the intended function and performance requirements of the system has reached by testing and verifying. The project requirements of the dot-matrix quality inspection system has realized by taking advantage of dynamic configurable FPGA and the use of overlapping parallel computing.The foundation in extensive application of the dot-matrix code in the food and medicine field is tamped.
