Feeding materials manipulator for die casting machine is one kind of equipment for scooping molten metal solution and carrying it to a predetermined position. There is a variety of device for transporting liquid material on the market currently. But when it comes to the equipment of die-casting machine, they are either lack of reliability and poor running or having complexity system and high cost and unable to meet the requirements of economic and durable factory. In this paper, I design a kind of robot for taking and sending liquid materials of high degree of automation and applicable for different casting conditions according to survey of existing domestic and international equipment for taking and sending liquid materials.Firstly, this paper analyzes the demand of feeding materials manipulator for die casting machine, then its present situation at home and abroad. The whole design scheme is presented by going to the factory on the spot, doing thorough investigation and study and combining with field usage. This scheme comprises Transmission selection, motion path planning, electric control system and so on.Secondly, Planar five bar mechanism is designed by Pro/e. It needs checking the global intervention after assembly. Then the mechanism's kinematics and dynamics simulation are made to optimize structure design. According to the requirements and environment, considering the processing economical and other actual situation, Auto CAD is used to design drawings.Thirdly, the mechanism can change its speed by PLC controlling inverter. Position signal is feedback to the PLC from the encoder for smooth transition of mechanism in different position to achieve smooth mechanism operation.Finally, this equipment will debug with other devices after its commission alone. Constantly optimization is made to realize full automatic of the die-casting machine according to the actual production. It is found that this device continuous work with the robot with two arms for picking and spraying and die-casting machine successfully after debugging.It can divide this equipment into different kinds of parts, so it is convenient for assembly, disassembly, maintenance and so on. Standard parts are used in this design mostly which can be found in mechanical design handbook. Processing piece are made in common machining process, such as milling, turning, welding and so on. This equipment can adapt to most of the existing models of die casting machine and has great application prospects.
