With the rapid development of aerospace and remote sensing technology,applications of various types of space systems including high-resolution earth observation and satellite positioning systems,make the relationship between human life and the space become increasingly close.As a comprehensive description and expression of the current remote sensing information,such as the current Space-Air-Ground environment,and the distribution and operating situation of the space targets,the Space Situational Picture(SSP)is an important manifestation of the space awareness ability,and an important form to provide basic information guarantee for all types of space activities besides.This paper carries out the research around the principle and construction technology of SSP,with emphasis on the visualization technology of the space situation.The main work and innovations are as follows:1.In the research background of the Space-Air-Ground earth observation and the establishment of multi-dimensional digital battlefield environment,the trend that the guarantee and application range of remote sensing information will expand from the ground to the entire space is illustrated.For the requirement of the Space-Air-Ground situational information,the concept of SSP is defined.2.On the basis of the common operational picture,the connotation of SSP is analyzed.The basic function and components of SSP are proposed,and a basic process to build SSP is established.For the demand of storing and sharing the space situational data,the method to complete space situational data modeling is proposed and implemented by using a combination of UML and XML technology.3.For the spatial and temporal characteristics of space situational data,an object-oriented unified space-time geometry modeling method is presented,which achieves the abstraction,organization and management of space situational data,and which improves the efficiency of space object modeling.4.On the demand of real-time 3D visualization of massive space targets,by taking advantage of high-precision floating-point and parallel computing features of the graphics processor,the real-time rendering and displaying algorithm of space target based on GPU is designed and implemented.In comparison with CPU processing,the experiment shows that when the number of targets is over 30,000,the speed is more than four times,and the effect is improved significantly.5.A viewpoint control method which combines objective-relation and classification-grading on three-dimensional scene is presented,and the sense of reality is improved by adding inertial element.The linear and spherical moving path are designed and implemented,which meets the demand of smooth viewpoints switching under different scales.The experiment results show that flexible,efficient and highly realistic humanity real-time view is achieved.6.Combined with series of research tasks,a visual prototype system of SSP-InSpace is designed and constructed,and its framework,module features and applications are introduced comprehensively.The system has achieved good benefits in practical applications.
