The development of Drosophila Melanogaster is an important research field in developmental biology. The maternal genes have a dominant role in the regulation of early embryonic development, which is closely related to the concentration of regulatory factors in the embryo. The application of computational approaches and modeling could help researchers to find a new ground in studying and analyzing the development of embryos.Based on the achievements of experiments and theoretical progresses,we introduce some knowledge of modeling which investigate classic patterning strategies of Drosophila embryo. We show the algorithm method of “Production-Diffusion-Degradation” model,by which we describe the exponentially decreasing concentration gradient of Bicoid,a morphogen located in the anterior embryo, and the level of mitogen activated protein kinase(MAPK)phosphorylation.Simulation results are obtained by using Matlab software.Besides,we discuss the influence of MAPK substrate competition to the gradient of Capicua, which is a substrate of MAPK as Bicoid. We look forward to more precise results by introducing more MAPK substrates into the model.
