Governing the Hunshandake sandy land is significant for local ecological environment, and vegetation restoration is an effective way to prevent the expansion of sandy land and mitigate the dust storm.Based on the investigation of the data collection and vegetation restoration of Hunshandake sandy land, this research summarized three kinds of vegetation restoration models that are suitable for different site types in Hunshandake sandy land:aerial sowing mode, enclosing mode and setting biological sand barrier. What's more, the vegetation restoration status of each group was analyzed. The results showed that:In the concentrated sand area, and the gentle sand or degraded grassland where the vegetation coverage is about 10%,which are suitable for aerial seeding. To aerial seeding area named 9a,Community species number, average height, coverage degree, density and aboveground biomass of the community reached the maximum, which were 68,200.39cm,81.33%,85.31 plants/m2 and 1051g/m2.The proportion of perennial plants of 9a also reached the maximum value of 57.40%.Thus community diversity and richness increased, the community structure and the community became more complex and more stable. For the degraded desert grassland, where vegetation coverage in the range of 10%-15%is suitable for enclosure mode.Compared with the control area, the species number, community average height, coverage, density and aboveground biomass of the community reached the maximum at the enclosure 12a,which were 39,125.33cm,72.7%,196.92 plants/m2 and 315.24g/m2.The maximum proportion of perennial plants alsc appeared in the enclosure 12a,which was 60.4%.The community diversity and richness index increased whie the dominance index decreased. In the drifting sand dunes and having serious sandstorms areas, where vegetation cover less than 10%were suitable for setting biological sand barrier. In the setting of sand.barrier 6a,the number of species, community coverage and density reached the maximum which were 22,53.3%and 45plants/m2.At 10a the community height and ground biomass reached the maximum, which were 173.37cm and 581g/m2;the proportion of perennial plants reached the maximum at 6a,which were 45.5%;the diversity and richness of the community increased, and the dominant phenomenon was obvious.Take different recovery measures to different types of sites will achieve better vegetation benefits. The conditions of sand areas are complex,so use single model is not the best governance method.Using a variety of models in different conditions and different periods can quickly achieve better benefits of vegetation restoration. In addition, the later management and maintenance play an important role to the sustainable development of vegetation protection.
