Two-dimensional engineering geological map of traditional geological engineering industry is difficult to fully reflect the real geological situation, with the development of 3 d virtual environment modeling and visualization technology, geological industry also began to study the virtual geological modeling and visualization technology.CATIA software developed by Dassault,France, has already begun to apply in the geological industry because of its powerful modeling and visualization capabilities.Since the development of CAITA software was not intended to be used in the geological industry, the technique of applying CATIA software to geological modeling has become a bottleneck in the application of the geology industry. This paper focuses on the use of CATIA software to integrate the southern CASS,surfer software to establish a 3d geological model and use for later output 2d engineering drawings, model rendering and finite element analysis. The main research of the paper is as follows:1)3d modeling methods.Using the functions of CAITA software combined with the southern CASS and surfer software, establishing the 3d geological model.2)Two dimensional mapping functions..Using the 3d geological model, the output profile, the plane graph, the rapid formation of the 2d drawing are achieved.3)3d visualizations. The three-dimensional geological model is cut,and the visual representation of any part is presented.4)Connect with ANSYS software. This paper deals with the finite element analysis of the model and realizes the complex CAITA 3d geological model with ANSYS.
