The discovery of Dawenkou Culture,not only find the origin of Shandong Longshan Culture,but also provided a great deal of evidences for prehistoric culture in Huang Huai Basin and the coastal area of Shandong,Jiangsu and Zhejiang Province.With the spread of North American bio-archaeology theory in China,the study of physical anthropology began to focus on ancient human inhabitants,economic patterns and environmental adaption,rather than race and diet.This paper examines the research from the following several aspects of Jiaojia site of human bone materials excavated in 2016,in order to understand the patterns of diet and human behavior in Jiaojia Dawenkou Culture,so that we can explore the social and economic situation at that time.The whole thesis consists of six chapters.Chapter 1:A review of previous researches and a introduction of materials.Chapter 2:Introduced the composition of population in Dawenkou Period from Jiaojia site.Discussed the population structure and the average life expectancy.Chapter 3:Remodelled the height and body mass in Jiaojia population during Dawenkou period.Made a discussion of the influence on height during economic changing period and the differences on body size.Chapter 4:Observed the dental tooth wear,caries,enamel hypoplasia,porotic hyperostosis,cribra orbitalia,degenerative joint diseases and trauma on Jiaojia population during Dawenkou period.Than made a discussion about diet,activity and economy.Chapter 5:Introduced the special customs in Dawenkou Culture,including tooth extraction and occipital deformation.Chapter 6:Conclusion.
