| The Fendou iron deposit is located in Yichun-Zhangguangcai Range Fe polymetallic metallogenic belt, and geotectonics is Jihei Massif(II Grade)-Zhangguangcai Range Orogenic belt(II Grade)-Taipingling margin uplifted zone(?). According to detailed field work to Fendou iron deposit, combined with research achievenment from prospecting work, we carried on systematic study on ore deposit genesis, prospecting direction, ore-forming geological characteristics, and indicate further prospecting direction, and illustrate important prospecting indicator. The main results of this study are shown below.1. The Fendou iron deposit is occurred in contact zone between Neoproterozoic Zhangguangcailing Group Xinxing Formation metamorphic series and Indosinian monzonitic granite. The wall rock alteration is composed of skarnization, silicification, kaolinization, sericitization, epidotization, chloritization and carbonatization. Of these, skarnization is closely associated with iron polymetallic mineralization.2. The orebodies are occurred within magnetite skarn, and distribution of three orebodies are consistent with skarnization and skarn. The magnetite orebodies also consistent with metamorphic rock stratum, and occurred as stratiform, vein, lentoid and cryptomere. The decline of orebodies is NE-trending, and dip angle is range from 45° to 80°. Therefore, we consider genesis of Fendou iron deposit is belong to sedimentary-metamorphic contact metasomatism hydrotherm sakarn type deposit.3. According to study result from predecessors, we speculate the formation time of Fendou iron deposit is Early-Middle Jurrassic, and is associated with subduction of Pacific Palte. The source of ore-forming material is the Upper Proterozoic Zhangguangcailing Group Xinxing Formation metamorphic rock.4. The paper summarized ore-forming geological characteristics of Fendou iron deposit, and provide prospecting indicator. On the basis of results from high magnetic measurements, we provide further prospecting direction. |
