The south mining area of Shibazhan iron deposit is located in the north of Heilongjiang Province, Erguna island arc of Tianshan-Xing'meng orogenic system Great Xing'an Range arc basin. According to system analysis of comprehensive achievement obtained from geology, geophysical and geochemical prospecting, The main results of this study are shown below.1. The strata exposed in the area is composed of Lower Proterozoic Xinghuadukou Group Xing'an Formation(Pt1xn), and lithology is schist, quartize, shallow particle rock, which is closely associated with mineralization and distribution. Xinghuadukou Group Xing'an Formation(Pt1xn) is mainly strata condition for formation of iron deposit.2. The magnet orebody is occurred in the outer contact between Lower Proterozoic Xinghuadukou Group Xing'an Formation(Pt1xn) metamorphic rock. The attitude is consist with strata, and stabilize in attitude. The magnet orebody is controlled by detachment structure in metamorphic rock, and metasomatic by skarnization. The genesis of deposit is skarn type deposit.3. Based on comparison results from magnet orebody and magnetic anomaly, we consider that magnetic anomaly intensity ? T > 3000 nT, which is first prospecting indicator for skarn type iron deposit.4. According to results from geology, geophysical and geochemical prospecting information in the south area of Shibazshan, we selected 4 prospecting targets, of these we confirmed 2 ore-caused anomaly(II and IV target), and 2 best prospecting targes(I and III target).
