In recent years, multicopter is becoming increasingly popular in photogrametry and remote sensing applications, thanks to its flexible and stable fly performance, strong extensibility, simple operation and relatively low cost. With the progress of computer vision, parallel computing and improvement of computer hardware performance, it's been possible to reconstruct 3D model from massive, disorderly, multi-resolution oblique aerial images, which means it's possible to collect qualified oblique aerial image via multicopter. But the short battery life and light load capacity of multicopter limits its application range. If we can take oblique aerial images using a more portable, flexible single-lens camera, it will undoubtedly enrich the means of image acquisition and be complementary to traditional image acquisition way which uses multi-lens camera.In this paper, according to the characteristics of multicopter and the demands of oblique photogrammetry, we'll discuss the key technology of oblique aerial image acquisition from the perspective of hardware selection, flight planning optimization and software development. The technology is successfully used in the practical work.The main research contents and results are as follows:(1) We analyzed the principle of traditional oblique aerial photography solutions which uses multi-lens camera. A scheme that uses single-lens camera to obtain oblique aerial images is proposed, based on the acquirement of images from 3D reconstruction software. The feasibility and effectiveness is verified by a experiment.(2) An aerial oblique photography workflow using single-lens multicopter is proposed based on application, including route planning, route optimization and execution, aerial photo quality control methods.(3) After the user demand research, analysis of usage scenarios and technology selection, we have designed a mobile ground station app for the needs of oblique aerial photography. The main function of the ground station app is uav remote control, route planning and oblique aerial photography automation. And, based on the latest software technologies and platforms, such as iOS and DJI Mobile SDK, GoogleMaps SDK for iOS, etc., implemented the key function of the app. The app design is also compatible with other kinds of mobile terminal and multicopter.Finally, according to industry demand and the technical development trend, further research of oblique image acquisition using single-lens multicopter is prospected.
