Many kinds of lizard skin have strong ability of regeneration as their tails.Up to this experiment, there were fewer studies focus on wound healing of lizard skin, especially in Phrynocephalus przewalskii(Squamata,Reptilia,Agamidae). This study concentrated on the features of skin wound—healing at different stages through basic experimental methods include tissue slice technology, photomicrographs,HE staining and immunohistochemistry.Wound—healing skin at representative stages was took as materials for research. The main results obtained are as follows:(1)Phrynocephalus and higher animals have great differences both in the wound—healing process and the healing rate.(2)The reaction of wound tissue was gentle in a short time in the period of inflammatory phase. While in the proliferative phase, cells proliferated rapidly. In addition, the structure—function of organizations have fully recovered in the repair phase which last for a long duration.(3)It confirmed that BrdU could label the stem cells in the wound—healing progress.Besides, cell number altered with the wound—healing stages.(4)?-catenin,Substance P and FGF—2 acted on different locations for wound healing at different stages. The experiment made a comprehensive analysis of histomorphology, stem cells n umber and appeared sites, and the action site and intensity of associated molecule. The epidermal stem cells of wound might be involved in may come from the organization of epidermal layer, supplied epidermal stem cells required for wound healing by cell differentiation.
