The deep part and the surroundings of mine district always be the important areas of mineral exploration.The results of 1:25000 rock geochemistry measurement in Moruogu Mining Area,Wulatehouqi,Inner Mongolia demonstrate that there are three chemical prospecting anomaly areas form the south to the north..Until now,the prospecting in two anomaly areas in the north has broken through,but it's on the contrary in the south.The study area belongs to the Langshan-Zha'ertaishan metallogenic belt, which is situated in the northern fringe of Northern China platform.There are some large ore deposits,like Dongshengmiao Pb-Zn deposit,Huogeqi Cu-Pb-Zn deposit,and so on.Geogas measurement one of effective methods to find buried mines, having advantages of probing depth and direct instruction features, came into being at 1980 s and could obtain prospecting information directly.In this paper,we did 1:2000 geological mapping in the study area as previous work; then, ues geogas measurement as deep-penetrating geochemistry method for exploring at 6 lines; Potential mine lots have been found by means of geochemical anomalies of elements calculated by traditional statistical method and fractal summation method, combined with regional geological features. The results showed that:(1) The study area located in Zhulazaga-Jiashengpan proterozoic- Paleozoic Au,Pb,Zn,S,Fe,Cu,Pt,Ni ore belt,which has a series of deposits like Zhulazhaga gold deposit, Huogeqi copper deposit, Dongshengmiao Lead-Zinc deposit, etc, has a hopefull metallogenetical prospect.(2)Through the study about the correlation of geogas measurement result, the indicator elements are Cu, Pb, As, U, Co, Ni, Th, Ag, Zn, Cr, Cd, Au, Mo.There is a good correlation in Cu, Pb, As, U, Co, Ni and Th. Ag, Zn, Cr and Cd have a good correlation. Au and Mo also have a good correlation.(3)The limit of geochemical anomalies of elements calculated by fractal summation method is lower than that by traditional statistical method. By comparingthe single-element anomaly maps of two methods, fractal summation method has better results in anomaly limiting by fractal summation method had a good anastomosis to the geological structure.(4)There are 4 geogas measurement lines in this study area, making singel-element anomaly map for 13 elements and synthetic anomalous map for trace elements, we have got three prospecting areas.(5)By comparing the characteristics of rare earth elements in geogas of prospecting target areas and ore, we got the metallogenic possibility order : No 2prospecting area> No 3 prospecting area> No 1 prospecting area.
