In order to investigate the contents and modes of occurrence of U and Be in Chongqing Nantong coal field, and to provide scientific basis for rational exploitation and utilization of coal resources,38 coal samples were collected,18 samples from 4 coal seam of Donglin,11 samples from 6 coal seam of Donglin,9 samples from 5 coal seam of Nantong. The contents of U and Be were analyzed by various methods,for example:General features of content, Quality score levels, Enrichment condition, and Profile distribution characteristics, modes of occurrence of U and Be were studied by Indirect method-SPSS.17.The concentrations of As and Hg were determined by the inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The average U concentration in the Donglin coal is 2.85 ?g/g, and average Be concentration in Donglin coal is 3.26 ?g/g; the average U concentration in the Nantong coal is 3.96?g/g, and average Be concentration in Nantong coal is 5.20 ?g/g. concentration levels of U and Be from Chongqing Nantong coal field were within normal levels. Enrichment of U In coals from Donglin and Nantong mining is in the normal range. Enrichment of Be in coals from Donglin is in the normal range, but mild enrichment in Nantong mining, uranium content of Chongqing coal field low compared with the level in Southwest China,Be content higher than that of Yunnan,Guizhou and Sichuan provinces, But low compared with Chongqing. Content of U and Be in Chongqing Nantong coal field is higher than the United States, and Australia and the world's coal,but the difference is not much. U in Dong Lin 4 roof of coal is the highest value, but the content in coal is low; Be content in the lower 4 coal gradually increased, and at the bottom of the seam up to a maximum value. Dong Lin 6 coal uranium content is higher in the roof and floor parts, the content of U in coals is low; content of Be in 6 coal is lower in roof and floor, But the content of the coal is higher. Content of uranium in Nantong coal roof is medium level, the content in floor location is high, the content in coal change widely; content of Be in roof location is the minimum value, the content is higher in coal and bottom position.The modes of occurrence of U and Be in the coals from Donglin and Nantong mine were studied by correlation analysis, factor analysis and hierarchical clusteranalysis. Relations of U and Be in coal to ash yields, total sulfur, forms of sulfur, and selected major elements are complicated. Finally, the main forming factors of syngenetic pyrite were analyzed combining the coal stratum sedimentary environment. Results indicated:U of Donglin 4 coal seam may exist in minerals containing silica, aluminum, phosphate, Inorganic affinity stronger; Be is related with minerals containing titanium, manganese and organic matter. Eastwood 6 coal, uranium has a very strong inorganic affinities, and has a good organic affinity; Be showed some inorganic affinities,may exist in sulfate minerals.5 coal in Nantong mine U Moderate relatedassociated with the element silicon, titanium; aluminium, potassium, phosphorus and are low correlation,U occurs in minerals containing these elements; Be is associated with titanium to moderate levels, And the total sulfur and sulfate sulfur and sulfide sulfur, iron, manganese, magnesium related lightly. Be has strong inorganic affinity, may mainly occurs in the inorganic minerals.
