Chaos, a particular movement in the nature, which is a deterministic system with random behaviors, exists widely in social life. Because of its dynamic characteristics,Chaos is widely used in communication systems, information processing, image compression and other areas.With the rapid development of electronic technology, stricter requirements are put forward for the spectrums of transmission signals. The current circuits gradually replace most of the voltage circuits due to its high-frequency and low power dissipation. However,most of chaotic circuits are still implemented by voltage-mode technology. Due to the intrinsic disadvantages such as narrow frequency spectrum, high power consumption and inconvenient to be integrated, voltage mode chaotic circuits have some limitations in real engineering applications. Comparing to voltage-mode circuits, Current-mode counterparts have higher operating frequency, lower power dissipation. Many current-mode circuits including oscillators, filters, and multipliers have been developed in recent years. But,there has been no paper dealing with the issue on how to design current-mode chaotic circuits. In order to overcome the inherent defects of voltage-mode chaotic circuits,current-mode grid multi-stroll chaotic circuits are proposed with the current signals acting as the state variables. The main innovative work consists of the following aspects:1) A current-mode non-linear function circuit is proposed for generating a multi piecewise linear function with different steps based on the second-generation current conveyor. The circuit controlled by switchiS, has flexible output. Then, a current-mode Chua's chaotic circuit which consists of current integrator, current-mode proportional operation circuit and current-mode non-linear function circuit is designed and implemented. By changing the number of piecewise, the circuit can generate two-scroll and single-direction multi-scroll chaotic attractors. In Pspice simulation surroundings, we verify the feasibility and high frequency performance of current-mode Chua's chaotic circuit by changing the time constant.2) A current-mode grid multi-scroll Jerk circuit is designed and implemented by a current-mode ladder wave function. The circuit can generate multi-direction multi-scroll chaotic attractors. In order to compare the high frequency of the current-mode chaotic circuit with that of the voltage-mode chaotic circuit, a voltage-mode grid multi-scroll Jerk chaotic circuit has been implemented based on voltage operational amplifiers; Pspicesimulation results show that the proposed current-mode chaotic has better performance.
