Landslide is one of the common mountain hazards which seriously threaten lives and property of the people and economic construction of the country. In order to reduce effects of the landslide hazard in humans effectively, further research should be undertaken to better understand the characteristics of landslide. The motion process and the disaster area of landslide can be obtained in the simulation of landslide motion process, which can provide a scientific reference and basis for landslide disaster prevention.Firstly, dynamic slice model for the simulation of landslide motion process has been derived from 2D model of the landslide motion equation which obtained from the average depth theory and the mass and momentum equation for 2D continuous fluid. Compared with the traditional theory of hydrostatic lateral pressure, the lateral pressure determined by different motion states which is accord with the actual situation of the motion of geotechnical materials has been taken into account in this model. The numerical simulation analysis of analytical case is achieved by applying this model. The calculation results agree well with the analytical solution, which verify the effectiveness of this model.Second, factors affecting on landslide motion process, including basal friction angle and cohesion, as well as the energy process have been discussed and analyzed. The numerical simulation analyses of for projects are achieved by applying this model. The calculation results agree well with the analytical solution and then the energy process of several projects have been discussed and analyzed. The last, the forecast simulation analyses of the post-failure of a mine project are achieved by applying this model. According to the result, the landslide basically completed the deformation in the 14s, which can provide a scientific reference and basis for this mine project disaster prevention.
