Study On The Development Of The Scale-economy Of Road Freight Transportation In Shaanxi Province

As an important basic industry of the national economy development, the road freight transportation industry has its own characteristics of public services, transport network, and natural monopoly, which makes it significant economies of scale. Now, the macroeconomic environment has undergone profound changes. China’s economic develops into the new normal situation. The development of road freight transportation industry ushers in the great opportunities and challenges. There is an urgent need to form the road freight transportation economies of scale as soon as possible in order to reduce the cost of transportation and improve the efficiency of road transportation of goods, which promotes the road freight transportation industry sustained, healthy, stable and efficient development.In this paper, we first draw on the analysis of domestic and foreign scholars research results on the development of transportation economies of scale. Combining with the basic theories of economies of scale, we define the meaning of road freight transportation economies of scale.At the same time, through analyzing its composition and significance, we comprehensively analyze the development of the theory of road freight transportation economies of scale around the new period of social economic development of new features. Then combining with Shaanxi road freight transportation industry development present situation, we introduce the coefficient of scale economy.On the basis of theoretical research, we comparatively analyze the national and domestic different areas, different levels of economic development in three representative provinces, which makes a quantitative research of Shaanxi road goods transportation scale economy level of development. Finally, we analyze the shortcomings of the development of road freight transportation economies of scale in Shaanxi Province. According to the actual situation of Shaanxi province, we put forward recommended measures to promote the formation of road freight transportation economies of scale in order to make a contribution to the better and faster formation of road freight transportation scale economy in Shaanxi Province.
